Specification without Maintenance is generally requested by customers who wish to employ their own in-house staff to develop a new project, or perhaps who wish to invite bids from various outside developers, but who require professional assistance in setting forth a precise technical plan by which to steer the development of the new project. In this case, Keyserkill Studios works with the customer to write a full and detailed initial project specification which can be followed by any development team. The specification, when completed, is the property of the customer and can be freely amended or altered by the customer without the involvement of Keyserkill Studios.

Summary: This method is used by customers who feel they can call upon their own technical resources to modify an initial "spec" in the event modifications might be required during the development of the project.

Specification with Maintenance is similar to Specification without Maintenance with an important exception: Keyserkill Studios is continuously and contractually available to assist the customer with amendments or alterations to the specification, regardless of the development team which has been selected by the customer. The customer can call upon Keyserkill Studios repeatedly during the contractual maintenance period to assist with revisions to the specification, regardless of the magnitude or complexity of the changes.

Summary: This method is used by customers who believe that an initial "spec" will probably require amendments or alterations during the project's development cycle, but cannot spare the technical resources required to modify an initial "spec".

Specification Amendment is a contractual arrangement between Keyserkill Studios and a customer to amend, modify or revise an existing specification which has been provided by the customer. The need for such an arrangement can arise, for example, when Keyserkill Studios is working on a project being steered by an old specification which is proving to be inadequate. In this case, Keyserkill Studios can undertake to amend, modify or revise the existing specification consistent with the requirements of the project.

Summary: This method is used by customers who have contracted with Keyserkill Studios for restricted development responsibility, and who then discover that the project's original specification no longer adequately describes the customer's current wishes within the context of the project goals.

Project Design Review is a contractual arrangement between Keyserkill Studios and a customer to perform analysis upon an existing project which appears to require remedial work. For example, a project might be achieving its design goals but is running over budget. Or, perhaps, a project seems to be progressing nicely according to all time and budget criteria but no longer seems to apply to changing business conditions. In such cases, a design review is called for. Design reviews can often reveal specific problems which can be corrected rapidly and inexpensively.

Summary: A project design review is an analytical procedure which compares the state of an underway project with the customer's suspicion that the project is not progressing in precisely the desired manner.
